The Shrubbery Nursing Home

Garden Project

Autumn is approaching now and our gardens need to be prepared for winter shrubs, pots and hanging baskets, not forgetting any last minute late pruning that needs to be done.

Our summer photographs below catch our last glimpse of the lovely summer sunshine which we have all enjoyed.

Bench Dedication and Tree planting

Mercian VolunteersHere at the Shrubbery we were delighted to be joined by representatives of the Territorial Army, who have always had a very strong connection with the Shrubbery. It was previously their headquarters and a talk was given about the background of the Territorial Army at the Shrubbery. Graham Bird from the TA has been organising with the Shrubbery arrangements for a bench to be donated to commemorate the history of the TA and its connection with our building.

On the 19th July 2014 a tree planting and bench dedication took place at the Shrubbery at 10.45 am. This was to commemorate “B” Coy 1st Battalion the Mercian Volunteers and to recognise and commemorate the men who left from their barracks at the Shrubbery in Kidderminster to go and serve in both wars never to return.

Mr and Mrs Ephraims proudly received the dedication and recognised the tree planting in the grounds. The weather was very cruel and the presentation had to be moved and took place indoors.
